Internship Host Information – 2008

v  DATES:                        June 1 through August 8, 2008.

v  HOST LOCATION:        We’d like to try and host our Interns in town or as close as possible. However, don’t let this keep you from putting your name in for consideration.

v  ACCOMMODATIONS:   A place for the Intern to live during the duration of their internship. This could be just about anything from a spare bedroom in your home to a spare rental apartment or home.

v  YOU PROVIDE: At minimum, we ask you to provide them with a room of their own, bed and access to bathroom and kitchen facilities. From there, you can determine what other aspects of your home you’d be willing to let them have access to, such as the laundry room, rec room, family room, etc.

v  TRANSPORTATION:     Provided by the Intern. If needed, they might ask you for a place to park their car or store their bicycle.

v  FOOD:                          Intern will provide their own food and snacks or if you wish, the church can offer you a small stipend to allow the Intern to eat your food. You might designate a specific place in the kitchen for the Intern to store their personal food items.

v  COMPUTER ACCESS/PHONE:  Interns will have access to the internet and a phone at the church. If you wish, you can make arrangements with the Intern as to the extent of their access to these items in your personal home.

v  OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:      Know that as an Internship Host, you don’t have to be “on” all the time.  You’re not expected to cook all their meals, do their laundry, pick-up after them, and /or entertain them. They’ll be instructed that this is not part of your role as Host. Also, you do not need to schedule their down time from the internship. Likely they will want to spend a significant amount of their time doing their own thing. It’s always good to ask and not just assume they’ll want to do this or that during their down time.

Thank you for considering this ministry opportunity!
